The Department

The Department of Graphic Design and Visual Communication at the University of West Attica is a result of the merging departments of Graphic Design and Technology of Graphic Arts.  The aim of this new department is to provide a very high quality standard of study for students being educated in the field of Graphic design and Arts; high quality knowledge, abilities and skills are obtained in this field of science and technology.

The  Undergraduate studies program is based on the prototypes and courses that are acknowledged and taught by recognized Universities and Organizations all over the world. Taking into consideration the regulations of the Hellenic Quality Assurance & Accreditation Agency in Higher Education ( HQA), this department aims to:

  • provide higher education within high quality standards both in the theoretical field and in the field of workshops.
  • stay up to date with new evolvements in the field of science, research and technology in order to be current and flexible in bridging the educational needs with market demands.
  • assist graduates in attaining skills, abilities and current information in order to be prepared for the challenges ahead such as, a competitive working environment and professional career perspectives.
  • offer knowledge that will enable graduates to enter a postgraduate Master program successfully in both Greece and Abroad.

The program of undergraduate studies of this department lasts 8 academic semesters and is divided into the following specializations:

  • Graphic Design
  • Technology of Graphic Arts
